Jennifer Hartfield is an artist, designer, and small business owner based in Maryland. A native of the Bronx, New York, Jennifer was immersed in the vibrant art and culture of the city from an early age, which sparked her creative passion. She studied Fashion Design at Mount Ida College (now UMass Amherst) in Newton, Massachusetts, and has since built a diverse career. While working full-time, she freelanced as an online visual merchandiser and as a designer and fabricator for an online lifestyle brand.
In January 2021, Jennifer founded Chroma Pop, an art business that specializes in handcrafted decorative art products, sip 'n paint workshops, and exhibit management services for both emerging and established artists, as well as corporate clients.
Jennifer currently serves as the Visual Arts Coordinator at the Dorchester Center for the Arts. As her business expanded, she also took on the role of curator for a traveling exhibition titled "Nod to Naz: A Tribute to Hertz Nazaire", organized the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America, Inc. (SCDAA). The exhibition ran from April to October 2024, showcasing the work of the late Hertz Nazaire.

Melissa Cooperman

Melissa Cooperman graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Journalism/Photojournalism and then moved to New York City. There, she worked as a Photo Intern, photographer, and darkroom printer at The Village Voice, an arts and culture weekly newspaper. During this time, she had the opportunity to collaborate with documentary photographers who deeply influenced her work, such as Sylvia Plachy. Melissa continued her career as a freelance photographer, contributing to national magazines and socially conscious newspapers, specializing in portraits and photo essays. She also worked with Magnum Photos at the NYC bureau and served as an assistant to renowned photographers like Bruce Davidson and Steve McCurry.
Later, Melissa pursued an MFA in Film Directing at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. After completing the program, she directed short films that were screened at international film festivals. She also gained experience working on various film and TV crews, further honing her craft.
Melissa’s professional journey included working as a Multimedia Producer at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt/Heinemann in Portsmouth, NH, and later at the International Food Policy Research Institute IFPRI.org in Washington, DC.
Currently, she works as a Multimedia Specialist for an international humanitarian aid organization based in Baltimore, MD. In this role, Melissa has had the opportunity to travel the world, documenting humanitarian efforts through video and photography with a strong focus on ethical storytelling.
For Melissa, ethical storytelling is about ensuring that the stories she tells honor the dignity and humanity of the individuals involved, emphasizing mutual respect. Her goal is to create authentic narratives that connect people from diverse backgrounds and highlight our shared humanity—regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status. This commitment to ethical storytelling shapes all aspects of her work, whether she is capturing portraits, editorial shoots, or any other assignment.

Becca Bibeau
2025 Winter-Spring Internship
Becca Bibeau is a senior at Salisbury University, currently interning with 9S Studios while completing her BFA in Graphic Design. During her internship, she hopes to share her passion for art, funky design, and positive vibes! She’ll be with 9S Studios until the end of May, after which she plans to freelance and find a job where she can fully express herself and create cool things for people to love!
